Note: folks submitting pics are welcome to make up their own amusing handles as above. I’ve switched to the generic “beach-goer” for most people to protect thier privacy, just first names if that’s how they sign their emails or if they request a specific attribution.

Orange Beach, AL

A beach-goer reports:

June Grass level :0
Has been totally gone since last week’s storms pushed offshore.
Conditions: partly cloudy, winds SSE at 10kts. Water as clear as OBA gets.
Some mullet schools cruising wave tops, headed west. Large alligator gar spotted swimming in surf. Occasional jellyfish but easy to spot and avoid.
Love the site and wanted to help contribute.”

Miramar Beach

Dave reports: ”

Great site. Know it can’t predict the future but always helpful to see what we may encounter when we arrive.
Here’s a pic from Miramar beach this morning. Water has looked this clear this since we arrived last Saturday. Not a speck of Junegrass all week.

Pensacola Near Ft. Pickens July 5th

A beach-goer reports: “The surf is up today due to some rain showers moving onshore. The water was pretty clear this morning when we got here but now the June grass is moving in after the rain. It’s about a 4 – 5 on the index. The waves are pretty decent and pretty choppy. Hoping for calmer waters tomorrow, will report back. Still enjoying the water!
