The June Grass Report

Staying at the Days Inn in PCB. (7/20/16). Lots of seaweed and miles of dead fish. It really stinks. Kinda makes you not want to go in the water. I didn’t see the June grass last night. I’ll post more pics if it’s there this morning.- Hillary

The evening pics were from July 11th. The day picture was taken on July 17th around 2pm. The June grass really changed from day to day depending on wind and off shore storms but definitely not a great week at the beach as far as clear water goes. Thanks for your site and the work you do for us visitors!

When leaving updates or submitting photos please give an accurate location. If you are unsure of your location please refer to the maps and brief explanation here. It would be misleading to readers if I were to publish a comment listing the location as “Miramar Beach, Destin” because these are two different towns in two different counties and might have very different levels of June grass. It is also important to know where you are in case you need to call emergency services, which is why I put the map under Health & Safety. Generally your municipality choices (from west to east) are: Pensacola Beach, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, Destin, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Panama City Beach, Panama City, Mexico Beach. Listing the resort and/or beach access name or state park along with the municipality is also helpful. Also when submitting pics please double check that the pic is actually attached. I manually upload all pics and lately I’ve been having trouble downloading pics sent from Yahoo accounts. I also moderate every single comment to keep them appropriate, accurate, and spam-free. Your beach updates and pics are most appreciated!
