June grass update for Walton County June 5th, 2011, AM:

2.5-3.5 on the June Grass Grossness Index. It’s starting to do the clumping thing where it can be sparse in one area and accumulate in thick globs in another area, such as between sand bars and other ocean bottom features. The wind direction also effects the concentration of June Grass. Last night thunderstorms coming from the North may have dispersed the June grass some, but the wind now seems to have shifted to the South again and is pushing it back toward shore. There is also a lot of sargassum floating and on the beach.
