Destin Pass

I’ve driven across the bridge twice today and the water looks great! I could see the bottom from the bridge.

The water is clear with a few spots that might rate a 2 at most on the grossness index. The June Grass is forming clumps of snot on the botton; it isn’t dispersed throughout the water column. The Gulf is calm with a few small rollers coming in. There are a TON of fish in the water! Subsequently there are also a ton of birds, dolphins, stingrays, and at least one small shark. Have fun but be cautious! Don’t approach the dolphins: this isn’t Flipper. Also keep an eye on the thunderheads offshore. Have fun at the beach today!

I would love it if you would share your personal June Grass and beach condition reports on the Post Beach Conditions HERE! tab on the menu, to further improve the June Grass Report.

You can also submit pics of the beach conditions from your location to:

junegrasspics AT gmail DOT com

Submitting your pics will vastly increase the beaches the June Grass Report can cover daily. Keep it family-friendly: (no booze, obscene gestures or R-rated swimwear, etc.) and include your location. By submitting pics you agree to let me use them as I see fit but I’ll put your name on them when posted. Your help and support is most appreciated!

If there isn’t a current June Grass report up on this site I suggest checking the link to local beach cams on the left side of this page. They can often give you an idea of what the water is like. It is also important to “Know Before You Go” and check local beach flags.

PLEASE ENJOY THE BEACH RESPONSIBLY!

Real – time report from Okaloosa Island

Josh reports from Beasley Park: “Can confirm parts of okaloosa island are getting back to normal. Little to no June grass, or seaweed. Water is warm, clear and gorgeous. Lots of people showing up to say thank you to Mother Nature for giving us our beach back!”

Thanks Josh!

Shirley can you give us a rating on the June Grass Grossness Index and maybe a slightly more specific locale? Much appreciated!
